“Working in a live terminal like Heathrow means everything has to be right first time. Our focus was on making sure the structure supported the layout, equipment, and services - without slowing down the build.”
Live terminal, landlord requirements and fit-out interfaces.

What the brief was — and what we delivered.
MJC provided full structural consultancy for a new Starbucks outlet at London Heathrow Terminal 2.
Challenge
The fit-out required coordination of structure, services and interior design within a compact live terminal unit. Ceiling-mounted lighting, equipment, MEP and HVAC all needed structural support without affecting passenger flow.
MJC's role
- Coordination with interior design and fit-out teams.
- Calculations for fixed equipment and ceiling loads.
- Documentation and reporting for Heathrow approvals.
- On-site support during installation and final inspections.
Outcome
The completed store meets brand and operational requirements, with the structure supporting the layout, equipment and services in a high-traffic environment.
The work, on site.
