This notice describes how MJ Consulting Engineers Ltd handles personal data when you visit this website or contact the practice by phone or email. It is written for the site as built — a static, content-led website with no forms and no third-party advertising or tracking embeds. The only visitor measurement it uses is privacy-first, cookieless analytics, described below. If those practices change, this notice will be updated.
Data we collect from this website
Very little, and never anything that identifies you personally. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-first, cookieless measurement tool — to count page views and measure how quickly pages load. It records only aggregate, anonymous information such as the pages visited, the referring website, approximate country, and the type of browser and device. It sets no cookies, stores no persistent identifiers, and does not track you across other websites or build a profile of you. We run no advertising pixels, heatmap tools, or session-recording scripts, and we do not require accounts or logins. Standard server access logs may be retained by our hosting provider for security and abuse-prevention purposes; we do not aggregate, analyse, or share these.
Data you give us by getting in touch
When you contact us by email or phone we will hold the information you choose to send — typically your name, contact details, and a description of the project. We use this data only to respond, scope the work, and (if engaged) deliver the engineering services. Project correspondence is retained for the duration of the engagement and for a reasonable period afterwards for professional-indemnity and records purposes.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. Our analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is deliberately cookieless, so no tracking, advertising, or analytical cookies are used and no consent banner is required. If we ever add tools that do rely on cookies, a consent layer will be added at the same time.
Third parties
Web fonts and images are served from this domain rather than third-party CDNs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which also provides the cookieless analytics described above; Cloudflare processes requests as our infrastructure provider, and the analytics retains no personal data. Email correspondence is handled by standard business email. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, restrict how we use it, or object to processing. We will respond to verified requests within one calendar month. If you have a concern about how we handle your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
