“Temporary stages need to handle huge loads, shifting weather, and tight build times - all while looking effortless. Our job was to make sure each structure could take the pressure, stay safe, and meet the demands of a live environment.”
Temporary structures, public safety and compressed build windows.

What the brief was — and what we delivered.
MJC provided structural design reviews, load assessments and on-site engineering for temporary stage structures at J2 Festival.
Temporary live-event brief
Five bespoke stage structures were planned across the festival site. Each needed to support creative production requirements while meeting UK safety standards for temporary outdoor structures.
MJC's scope
- Structural design reviews for all five stages.
- Load assessments including crowd loading, equipment and wind exposure.
- Foundation design with ballast and screw pile solutions.
- On-site engineering support during construction.
- Final sign-off documentation for live use.
Outcome
The festival ran successfully with temporary infrastructure that gave organisers, performers and audiences confidence in the structures supporting the show.
The work, on site.
